Drum Lessons In Central Pennsylvania

Whether you’re a beginner or pro, Jamie’s Drum School is a place where we’re all on this journey together through private drum lessons in Central Pennsylvania including Mechanicsburg, Elizabethtown and Hershey. I’m excited to show you things I’ve been working on and learning my entire life. Helping you grow as a drummer and gain skills that you can also take to life is something I take great pride in.

For beginners we’ll travel down the path of learning proper techniques to build muscle memory, independence, creative tools, standard rudiment knowledge, drum set coordination, and together we’ll research some of the greatest drummers and styles that influenced the world of music.

For intermediate and pro drummers I’ll break down techniques that I’ve learned from some of the industry’s top drummers and educators and some techniques I’ve found helpful in my own personal growth as a musician.

Together, we’ll gain knowledge on how to structure practice sessions tailored to your individual needs, how to gain more independence, and how to grow your voice to be the best you can be at your craft.

If you are looking for private drum lessons in Central Pennsylvania, look no further than Jamie’s Drum School.

Private Lessons FAQs

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., fees)?

Tuition Cost

The monthly tuition fee is $115.00 per month. Additionally, there will be a $2.00 fee

added if you are paying with Square due to fees associated with this payment method.

This is a monthly tuition that holds your spot for the month, and is not a “per lesson” fee.

This payment is due on the first lesson of each month. It is critical I receive tuition

payments on time.

Payments can be made in-person or on my website: www.jamiesdrumschool.com.

Missing Lessons

In the event that I am unavailable on the date of a scheduled lesson, I will do my best to

schedule a make-up, which may be in-person or video content/links.

It is understandable that life happens, and students also need to miss or reschedule

drum lessons. I will do my best to accommodate conflicts with a make-up lesson or video

content, however, missing a lesson does not change the cost of your monthly tuition.

No call, no shows

It is imperative that you notify me as soon as possible if you need to miss a lesson. If you

no call, no show for two lessons in a row, your time slot may be filled with another

student on the waiting list.

Scheduling

By the last week of every month, I will send an email with a calendar for the month ahead,

showing any days where I am unavailable for lessons and will work with you to reschedule

or send a virtual lesson.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First I offer a free consultation so that we can get to better know each other and I can find out the direction to start planning an individual lesson plain. At the first consultation I will discuss how my lessons work and what will be needed by the student.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I started studying drums at age 6yrs. I spent a few years with Jamie Hess who has done sessions with Jimi Hendrix so I got well introduced to the rock style drumming. Then I went on to Arron Walker from the band Burning bus and the Reese project. Arron taught me to dance with the kit in body motion and learned a great deal of flow and music reading. Then I went on to study with Clyde Luccas who has toured with Ray Charles and Count Basie. From Clyde I learned a lot about the flow of jazz and latin and world rhythms. I then went on to Berklee college of music and earned a graduate from there. From there I went on to study privately with Mike Johnston, Jim Payne, Peter Erskine, Stanton Moore and Dave Wekl.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

After college I did a few tours and started working shows. I found out that My greatest joy was meeting new drummers and working with them to help them get better at there craft. so when things settled with the touring I decided to take on a few students. Through teaching my students I found a great passion in teaching and new that this was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life!

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with young kids as young as 4 yrs old.
I have worked with disabled and challenged clients.
I have worked with 70 yr olds. and students from beginner to pro.
